In this video I demonstrate how I paint my rifles. I do not claim to have invented this method, it was taught to me some time ago, and I am now sharing it with you.

This is my first time making video content, and I may make more in the future. Please bear with me, the quality will improve as I get used to my editing software.

  2. Would like to see a before and after of painted nylon via IR. Or maybe a picture through NOD of the SOG Ninja you painted to see how much it glows under IR. First passive then under IR illumination.

      1. Here is an example of something similar.

        I would also be interested to know if clear matte spray paint has an effect on NIR compatability (can I keep my hunting camo packs that glow under NOD?). I may experiment with that myself.

  3. Did you degrease before painting and what did you use? I usually use isopropyl alcohol before taping, but I’m always looking for different ideas. The alcohol is cheap, and it seems to work well. Another product that you might find interesting is Brownell’s Alumahide. It is an epoxy paint that is quite durable, especially if you bake it, but just leaving it to cure in a controlled environment such a a heated living area will allow it to adhere very well. They have a clear version of it as well if that is of interest.
